Sinister: sinister: love is lighter than air

oh, yes, dearies, i love the magnetic fields. no, they're not goth, 
you've yelled me into submission. but i do love them, oh, yes.

i'm going to be directing our high school's student production in the 
coming weeks... and i've chosen sartre's "no exit". i wanted to do 
"waiting for godot" but couldn't make hide nor tail of it, so i went 
for more accesible existentialism. although no exit is only one act, 
so i might be able to throw in a beckett short like krapp's last 
tape, even though it is not, upon re-reading, as short as i had 
thought. and substantially more difficult. oh, dear.

carolyn asked me last night if i was attracted to her. in a 
roundabout way, so she could pretend we weren't having a probing 
personal conversation. so i told her, i did, i said, "i look at you, 
and i see things i don't see in..." and apparently this wasn't the 
answer she was expecting... and i thought it might be a good idea, 
you see, because why would she ask me this question if it wasn't 
leading up to something? unfortunately, it was leading up to "i like 
our relationship the way it is -now-, and i don't need it to be more 
than that." oh, she's a confusing girl, but it's better than when she 
hated me. but we will spend next weekend together at our teenage-love-
and-understanding retreat, where we will cry together and become 
close as bugs in a tin of sardines, dear. so that's alright, i 
suppose.
