NO B&S CONTENTS (sorry)

i was really stunned by all the response i got from posting about cap'n jazz and joan of arc on the list. i was going to ask if there were any ida fans were around and then a mail about that arrived. on the subject, has anyone heard the new ida ep? i thought they broke up when jenny toomey and her friend (can't remember her name) decided to quite doing simple machine. but then i saw on cdnow that ida has a new ep out on some other label.

for you u.s. listees: the lapse will rock your world in 2000.

i was just about to ask, the van pelt! the van pelt's lp "sultans of sentiment" is one of my absolute favourite albums. it is so increadible! unfortunatly they broke up, i saw them on their last tour with the sin-eaters. they broke up because the singer, chris leo wanted to start teaching, then toko and chris decided to start a new band, the lapse. a friend taped their debut lp, i can't remember the name of it but i wasn't that impressed, there is a song about mosquitos that i liked but other then that it was not as good as the van pelt were in songs like "do the lovers still meet at the chiang kai shek memorial?", "nazen kills a cat" and "the good, the bad & the blind". but mark, are you saying that the new upcoming lapse lp is good or what?

when i am on the subject of gern blandsten i should ask if anyone has heard the new ted leo lp. i really fucking loved chisels last two lps, they were historial pop events that should have been released on a bigger label - and i am saying this with a record of always being faithful to indie revolution everywhere. "set you free" and "8:am all day" are pop history. i saw ted leo play with is other band the sin-eaters (infront of oh let's say 25 people) and he is just amazing.

Ok, enough already, sorry for the american indie culture part,

fjÀrilspussar,

Johan.
