johan asked and i couldn't resist..

<<NO B&S CONTENTS (sorry)
i was really stunned by all the response i got from posting about cap'n jazz
and joan of arc on the list. i was going to ask if there were any ida fans
were around and then a mail about that arrived. on the subject, has anyone
heard the new ida ep? i thought they broke up when jenny toomey and her
friend (can't remember her name) decided to quite doing simple machine. but
then i saw on cdnow that ida has a new ep out on some other label.>>

after jenny and kristen (i think?) stopped doing their simple machines
thang, ida were picked up by a major label. capitol, perhaps? anyway,
they're being treated in typical major label fashion and their newly
recorded album is hidden away, probably in some record moguls front closet.
hopefully it will be rescued. that ep (called "losing true") is wonderful.
it's a little different than other ida stuff - it has more of a smoky
cabaret feel to it. it was released on bingo records.

and there you go.

exam-time,
teri
