Can't remember: maybe I was typing in the DT version of Wordpro. Or
cutting out Es.  Actually Es came into play far too late for my generation;
I never know what Irvine Welch is all about, except for the occasional
translations on this list. Which ruined "Slow Graffiti" for me, knowing all
that sordid stuff was going on upstairs.

Georges Perec (?) wrote a novel in French without any "e"s, didn't he?
Maybe I was heading in that direction.

No, I was compensating for Nick Dastoor's adding on "o" to his name every
few years.

I used to think Mark was using the Italian for Red House Painters as a
pseudonym, then I found out that Mark isn't "painters" in English.

Anyway, now that Honey has announced the archives can't be searched
properly any more, it's safe to go back to "Conneely".

Amos wrote that the marketplace had passed judgement on Gentle Waves, i.e.
if you buy some decent old music you can have it cheap. (He didn't write
that: I'm just slanting what he did write to jibe at poor Isobel)

But then I read on Jeepsternews that "the gentle waves
are working on new material". Those who do not learn from history are
doomed to make the same mistakes, or whatever that quote is. The solution
to the GW problem is for Struan and Isobel to swop roles; no - not have him
wearing a dress, just writing the songs and doing the main voice. And
draft in Stuart D and Sarah M, too. Could be a very good band if they did
that.

Cornelius is a great band to cough to. I had a few maximum volume 90
second sessions of trying to expel my lungs at their recent Dublin gig in
Dublin without annoying anybody. (Flaming Lips headed the bill but I
discovered this morning that they are not very nice people and I don't want
to mention them.) On the bus, if I get an inside seat, it guarantees I have
the full seat to myself. Which is handy on Imp buses as the seats don't
cater for those in possession of kneecaps.
Life is cruel: Sparklehorse and Cane 141 are playing in Roisin Dubhs,
Galway on Friday next but I can't go. Will see Beth Orton and Charlatans -
about whom/which I know nothing - tonight, though.

Martin Conneeeeeeeeeely

(Cliff says he changed his name to get rid of "e"s)
