Sinister: read only if you have a soul

sometimes, between records or when i'm in a dry patch, i forget why i love
music so much, almost (actually, sometimes past) the point of obsession.
then something, normally just a single song, makes me feel alive, like i'd
been dead or asleep for months and finally just woke up and remembered what
was going on. how wonderful and amazing it is to be in love, and how
heartbreaking sometimes, and how something so funny can be so true
sometimes, and a million other things that constitute life but cannot
possibly be dissected into anything resembling single emotions, because
they only exist in tandem with a million others.
in case you were wondering, i just got the new magnetic fields albums.
there's a three cd box set. 69 love songs. the primary problem i'm having
right now is wanting to listen to all three cds at the same time.
selecting titles of individual songs is beside the point, i'd be naming at
least half of the songs on the album, and it's only my second listen ( or
maybe the first for this cd, i'm forgetting which is which ;). this isn't
self-promotion, or even promotion for the band. this is a public service
message. if you've ever loved anyone or anything, or had any desire to
love, then you need to wrap yourselves in this music and hold on for dear
life.
next thursday and friday, the magnetic fields will be performing the 69
love songs over two nights at the knitting factory in new york. they will
then launch a tour around the united states. if you are not lucky enough
to live in one of these select areas, book your plane ticket now. this is
something that money can buy.
