>Not quite sure if this is common knowledge or not but due to the fact
>it's>circulation is going down the toilet Melody Maker is going to be
>relaunched>at some point in October as an A4 magazine that will apparently
>bridge the>gap between Smash Hits and the NME!

Yes! So Im not hallucinating then. I was told this and my friends told me I
was insane and what did I know. They said it would be aimed at 16 - 20 year
olds. Which is sad sad, sad, because it had the only little bits left
reading out of the music papers...

i must say i am quite envious of all
>you sinister kids in england getting together all the time.

Oh oh oh, I really must organise myself. I completely forgot it was Primrose
Hill last Saturday, and I only live down the road...The only people I have
managed to meet from this list are some random people I managed to meet at
Tigermilking who I met because I was wandering round bemoaning to everybody
that I had no friends and had consumed about five hundred pints of vodka.
Then at the next Tigermilking the poor souls recognised me and came and fed
me more pints of vodka:-)

>anyway, for all you poor listees who missed yet another lovely
>picnic,>here's what happened (as far as i can remember).

Ohhhhh you're amking me jealous now. When is the next one?

it involved a mixture of gin,
>cypriot brandy, lemonade, wine (both colours, i believe), cranberry
>juice,>the dregs from all of david kitchen's various interesting
>alcoholic>beverages all topped up with about a pint of luke warm lager.
>top.

Mmmmmmm, we were on BMW's at a Nice Weekend In London because they RAN OUT
OF BEER!!! Oh joy!! Bailey's Malibu and Whisky, mmmmmmmmmm...

>anyway, that's about all the news from this little drunken corner of
>london>town. like i said, if anyone can teach me how not to get SSSOOO
>drunk so>quickly, the help would be much appreciated ;)

Its easy. Do it a little faster. Like me.

It's not like drink makes us into
>completely different people, is it?

Oh yes. Yes, yes YES...

We may be a bit larier or whatever,>but I'm still Will whether I'm drunk,
hungover, or....whatever other>state of being there is. I can't remember. I
think booze just strips>away layers of people, gets to 'the real person'
almost, by getting rid>of all of our social nicities.

No no nooooo, that's not you. The pissed me is not me at all. And it's not
who I am underneath when Im not drunk, its someone else. I know Im not
always nice, I try to be nicer most of the time, but I would never be that
evil. When Im pissed, even a little bit, I turn into Bitch From Hell before
going on to Dead Person. Drink only comes in Silly, Bitchy and Dead.

>I don't know how coherent that is. I'm going for a lie down.

Im going for a drink...

>"Yerself is Steam" is Mercury Rev when they were GOOD! I promise, I've
>tried>to get into their new stuff, I watched them at Bowlie all excited,
>only to>be unbelievably disappointed by their standardised mid-tempo rock
>music.

No! No, no, nooooo!!! As usual, I was a Late Developer, and like half (Half?
Ninety percent then) of the population, I only got into them after
Deserter's Songs, but that is and will stay one of my top ten ever. But live
they have been a bit disappopinting, at all the gigs I have seen, Bowlie I
thought was the best! They were better than when I saw them at the Empire
and the Garage. But then, hey, as I said I was a late developer...

>Marcus, remember, vommitting on one's clothes is better than vommiting
>in>someone else's shoes,

Or on the pop editor of the Daily Star. In a taxi. That she was paying for.
*shudder* Oddly I haven't spoken to her in ages...

Nice note to end on...

Nicx
