Hi all,

Has anyone translated the Brazilian messages yet?

and you know I can't be the only fan of Lolly cos she's at number 4 in the charts and I havent bought any of her singles!


University Challenge:

Lucy Alder - (31 is her best score) "Shit!  I missed University Challenge last night"
Arantxa Sanz - (she wants to murder Jeremy Paxman) "I am amazed how unliterate and rough I am after 20 years in full time education" (and she didn't say shit either)
Robin Stout - "Someone's mum said I looked like Jeremy Paxman once" (thats a complete lie...!!!! Robin is lovely and bares no resemblance to JP at all)
Fountainhead - "unversally challenged - that's me." (thats one of those "sic" things - could anyone tell me what "sic" means. I've forgotten) 
Rachel - "newcastle...stormed to victory thanks to the rather attractive english student on the end, mmm" (shallow? OH NO NO!)  
Robert McTaggart - "Only on Sinister could I read that people are upset about missing "University Challenge" " (enough said)  

Well Lucy, 31 is a great score to try and top. As I play with at least 4 various family members the competition is high, so I've only managed a measly 16 as my highest. Never knew all the fans were there, and I only found out today that Kittencore's Ricky T answered a question for a team back in 1997....I forget the question but the answer was "dark matter."

Esme from Germany asked, and Simon replied, Fountainhead got a demo at Bowlie, and the world is a small place.

Yeah - I know them too...I used to work with their mate Colm his sister Jennifer at Sainsburys, and then I was in a band Colm's and Jen's brother Robert, and I went to see their mates band being Baptiste play in Harrow in 1997, and then years later, Chris, Colm's mate, told me his band, Dead America, had a gig and it turned out they were supporting the band I'm in, The Vertical Smile ) and then Bowlie came along and I spoke to some Baptiste members there too....

and hello to Simon - I've probably been in the same room as you at some point somewhere....



Kahimi Karie:
Sarah mentioned her whilst cussing down Isobel: "I will send you a tune by Kahimi Karie which I have been whistling all day instead"

Is she still Cornelius's girlfriend? I was reading Magnet mag from April 95 the other day, and came upon her. Beck has worked with her, Momus writes songs for her and Cornelius goes out with her. What is she like Sarah?
Also, check out the Sushi 2000 (did i get the year right? It's not the 4004 one...) for a great song by Hiroshi Takano. It's called "Aikawarusa" and it's real summery and light. Like Angel Delight.


I wanted to write more about writing "Free Arthur Lee" in some wet cement in Washington DC after seeing the Make-Up, how good "GO" actually was, why I didnt get to see The Honeyz and 5ive at Brixton last weekend, a way to cheer Tigerx Lauren up, and why my sister put "Sixteen Candles" on to cheer me up....
