Hey Kids,

Shameless promotion and list abuse here -- but it's not self-promotion and
it might give some sinisterines an idea for a night out and it might be fun,
so I guess maybe we can think of it as a public service. Yeah. That's it.

Up-and-coming "fey aesthetes from Connecticut" The Butterflies of Love have
a few gigs happening so if you are on the lookout for something to do on
either side of the Atlantic...

...this Friday, Sept. 17, the Butterflies will be appearing at the Baggot
Inn as part of the CMJ thing. The Baggot is at 82 West 3rd St. between
Thompson and Sullivan. The band is scheduled for 7 p.m., the location is
central, so it might be a good way to start off your evening's festivities.
A journey of a thousand miles, etc.

You get another shot at seeing them on Sept. 29 when they open for Bis at
Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ

There are some other gigs in the NY/CT area so if you are interested mail me
off the list and I'll fill you in.

Then the Butterflies take flight and pack up to flutter over to the UK for a
bit of October. They will be playing as follows:

October 14, Nottingham, Bunker's Hill -- with Airport Girl and Twinkie.

October 15, London, Bull and Gate -- with Mark 700, Action Time and
Sportique.

October 16, London, The Scala -- with Cato, the Smith Garrett Band, Airport
Girl, Spraydog, the Family Way, Comet Gain, Birdie (St. Etienne backup
singer), Rosita (two of those Kenickie girls), Spearmint and Quickspace.

October 17, Leicester -- with Airport Girl and Marine Research

There's a NME review of the Butterflies' single ("Wild" on the Secret 7
label) on nme.com this week.

There. Now get out of the house and get some fresh air. It'll put some
roses in your cheeks
