a retire from lurkerdom for one moment...
hi all.... I saw high fidelity on friday and was plesantly surprise by
Belle and Sebastain's double name drop with the playing of seymour stein.
Usually books get destroyed in the process of the movie making and I was so
pleased that High Fidelity remained so true to the genius that the book
was. At least a few movies this year were semi true to the books (cider
house and end of the affair) and the usual destroying of great novels (i'm
sure highsmith is rolling in her grave) occured too. The cameos of other
indie peoples were great (Liam Hayes on piano) and the movie was great. If
you haven't gone to see it I urge you to. I knew we were into something
when the 13th floor elevators started the show. The book and movie spoke
to the pretentious asshole that I am and i loved ever minute of it.
the obligatory one ever three year post...
thanks for listening ~ josh
