Sinister: Planet NAY

Mornen

Went to see God Speed & Sigur Ros last night, both
really really good, especially Sigur Ros (damn that
angelic voiced handsome Icelander, SPIT, SPIT). As for
God Speed, PHEW!

My only gripe, and it's a big 'un,is that Planet K is
without doubt the worst venue I have ever been to see
a band at. From the attitude of the staff on the door,
the pre-printed "Due to a technical fault the draft
pumps are not in use" - i.e. Stump up for a bottle
sucker!, the fact that I was charged £10.20 for two
bottles of Stella and a diet coke. All this combined
with the floor sloping back down from the stage, a
narrowness that would have prevented Twiggy from
getting anywhere the front and I'm sure they had the
heating on full wack!

Suffice to say, I would rather have spent a bit more
and travelled to a another date on the tour.

Sorry about moan, but if it's any consolation I feel
much better now. Back to lurking........

Before I go, am I the only one who didn't think the
book "High Fidelity" was much cop? (BARRAGE OF YESS!)
It's a few years since I read it but I don't remember
it that fondly. Everyone I've lent the book to since
has loved it. To me it just seems such a diluted and
tame idea of "laddism" that Nick Hornby aspires to.
It's responsible for everyone from Chris Evans to Zoe
Ball anally "Top Fiving" everything. The big plot
development, toward the end of the book (which I won't
reveal for those who have yet to read it), which
supposedly explains away the characters lack of
ability to commit is soooo LAME! It is built up to
arrive as a live changing revelation whereas it
arrives with a dull thud. I could go on but I fear I
may alienate myself even more than I already have.

Bless

Leaky
