Sinister: i don't think so....

Hello there

The simple fact of the matter of B&S becoming popular is this:

It's not going to happen. Can you really imagine 8 year old school girls
whose record collection includes such lumanaries as Five and the evil Steps
begging their mummies to buy them the new Belle and Sebastian record?
Likewise can you imagine the Phonics/Travis/Oasis "indie" fans suddenly
reading deep into the words of a song that they heard on Sara Cox's
Breakfast Show? Sara Cockhead won't even play Legal Man. (probably) I think
that in a few months time B&S will only be as popular as, say Travis before
"The Man Who". The problem is, as Lawrence said, that B&S are too clever for
the charts. Also they are too sensitive, and would be branded as wussys for
not having a loud and arrogant attitude. The video for Legal Man is not
going to be about a bet which results in Stuart M having to do constant
press ups for 12 hours while the rest of the band sit around and watch. B&S
are not stereotypically rock n' roll.

(sorry if I sound like a total dick)
Glen
