ah, it warms my heart to see my mendoza buddies getting recognition. :) i kinda wish they'd come back from new york, but that's
not my call is it?

i saw sussex, or is it "essex", i can't remember, green last night down here at the kindercore expo. i thought the female
keyboard/vocalist/flautist was a bit chilly, but an enjoyable set nevertheless. i was completely floored by of montreal. i don't
know how i've been able to avoid hearing them for so long, and it's humbling to think "that's the guy from the video
store..............what am *i* doing at night?" (A: writing about them :) ) i've never seen a crowd go quite so apeshit, they're
really big heroes to these folks and that added even more power to the phenomenal energy already coming off the stage. it was
enough to completely wake me up, which i was doubting any band could do at that point, i just wanted to go to bed. the typically
excellent masters of the hemisphere seemed almost dull by comparison. and that's saying a lot, they're a great band. (though i was
hoping they'd pull out their "age of consent" cover again)

alright, back to the coal mine.
