Sinister: Bricks, broken bottles and sticks

Right, it's not fair for a thread to be done and dusted in 24 hours because it doesn't take
account of the fact that people who worked a TWELVE HOUR DAY yesterday, then went home to clean
the house and pack all their stuff for an imminent move and are absolutely cream-crackered this
morning, didn't have time to read a single sinister message yesterday. I'm sorry, OK, but I've
just got to add my piece. For all the frighteningly intelligent musings on tautologies and
oxymorons, nobody has mentioned the following:

 - The phrase is 'pure as the driven snow' and 'cold' appears to have been added because an extra
syllable was needed to make the line fit the music nicely
 - Snow is cold, always. It may perhaps be less cold or more cold, but it's certainly never warm,
hot or scalding*
 - Should you stress the y or the second o in Oxymoron? (I favour the o)

Oh dear, I was hoping Mark Casarotto was gone for good, but nay, he only left our company for a
little over a week. Ah well, at least I can take the piss out of him because he mentioned that he
received a nice cheque from http://www.bananalotto.co.uk but omitted one small detail - he won 50
new English pence. It's true, you know. I'd take his claims of gambling prowess with a pinch of
salt, if I were you.

It will be a good record with

and I'd like to second that, while adding that people who join Ms Berry in her musical endeavours
aren't too bad either.

Honestly, the youth of today! Pyromania, bouze, miraculous ungayings, blood, spunk, pish, shite,
nipples, tongs and raw meat all in one night? And I bet you stayed up past your bedtime too, Miss
Jenowl. Shameful.

But I think our own Velocity Girl has done a very good job of that. Well done for organising the
next picnic on the 27th, Vel. This is most fortuitous because (a) I will be able to make it and
(b) it is on Sinister's 3rd birthday and (c) it is on the first anniversary of me getting a voice
on the list. Those of you that can make it, I'll see you there - as always, I'll be the one with
a big bottle of gin. Those of you that are further flung and won't be there, pull on your red
knickers to celebrate our birthday and flash them about as much as possible. Go on, make Honey
blush.

That's all I'm writing for now because all my drudgery at home and at work has turned my brain
into a gigantic frazzle. Literally. But I suppose it might come in handy as a mid-afternoon
snack.

Juicy Lucy

*sorry for stating the bleeding obvious there.
