Ha! I never heard of Squee until 2 days ago when my friend showed me one of
his Squee graphic novels and I was instantaneously hooked. Wobbly headed bob
is practically the story of my life.

>someone asked about why the band were associated with tweeness; it has
>always seemed
>to me that it has little to do with their sound or struan's voice (although
>these may contribute
>to it) but just about everything to do with the lyrics. the nature and
'>location' of the tweeness
>isn't always simple, either. take We Rule The School for example. for me,
>at first glance, I
>thought I was going to be ill. oh, this is ridiculously over-the-top twee,
>I thought. but then
>I realized that the surface tweeness wasn't the prime tweeness, the surface
>tweeness
>complemented the music in a complex relation which made for a twee whole
>song. oh my,
>that was an odd tangent to go off on. <

Yes, that was me. I had said in my last post that my friend asked why B&S
were associated with tweeness and I gave him a weak answer to fill in the
eerie silence that followed. Thanks for responding, at least I know that
people do read my posts. Heh. I never even heard the word twee until I
started reading the list so I guess I'm not completely familiar with all its
uses and contexts. If anyone could straighten me out it would be nice.

That mucker site was pretty amusing, but for some reason, when i downloaded a
sound, it just played back nothing. <shrug> We have the equivalent of those
here in New York, we like to call them "hard-knockers" because they pretend
they live in the ghetto and wear shirts that say "queens school of hard
knocks" even though they grew up on Long Island and real queens kids would
kick the crap out of them if they saw them on the street. I think I said this
in my last post so I'll shut up now.
Bye for now.

                                                        Derek

I was so excited yesterday when my mum presented me with a gigantic tea mug
she got when she was in Dallas, It's quickly become my most prized
possession.
