Sinister: gormenghast

oh wow, did anyone see the first episode of 'gormenghast' last night? wasn't
it fantastic? i tried reading the books when i was about 14, and although i
enjoyed the descriptions and the language, i didn't have a clue what was
actually going on. this was probably due to the fact that i'm an
exceptionally lazy reader, i can't tell anymore whether i'm skim reading or
not. i normally am. so, this adaption has really helped bring it to life for
me, it's brilliant, i'm definitely going to give the books another go. and,
oh, johnathan rhys meyers, how gorgeously shifty is he?!!
