Sinister: all my troubles seemed so far away

i'm moving tomorrow.  not many people will be interested in this, but since 
it means that i'm leaving the fair shores of sinister to journey through the 
dangerous waters of jobless, internet-less, family-less independence (oh shit 
- what *am* i doing?) i have to mention it.

i'm depressed.  i blew a job offer yesterday.  it was like in 'just a minute' 
where any repetition, deviation or hesitation was penalised.  (oh well done 
archel, alienating the remaining half of the list who hadn't pressed delete 
after reading the word 'depressed'.  'just a minute' is a long-running UK 
comedy quiz on radio 4, okay.)  anyway, because i hesitated (for like, 2 
seconds), when being offered the job (which admittedly i don't really want, 
but beggars can't be choosers), they suddenly changed their minds.  fuckers.

still, my 5 star (in every sense) boyfriend phoned me instead of going to see 
kate rusby with alasdair, which seemed like a lovely sacrifice at the time, 
but since ally didn't see her in the end anyway it's not quite the same, not 
that phoning me was the actual reason he didn't go anyway... er, where was i? 
 oh yes, so i got to have a good moan at him about how unemployable i was.

in my weary, jaded mood i say yes! to the box set.  i mean, i'd stoop pretty 
low to make money at the moment, so i'm not going to criticise anyone else 
(especially a bona fide business whose *job* is to make money) for doing so.  
not that i'd buy the bloody thing of course, what kind of mug do they think i 
am?

hmm, momentarily cheered up then by the sight of my cat sitting in front of 
my speaker with a rapt expression on her face.  didn't know she was an r.e.m. 
fan.  she looks a bit like the hmv dog in front of the gramophone, only she's 
not a dog and it's not a gramophone.  oh, now she's ruined it all by jumping 
up on the desk and trying to sit on my tbwtas cd, which is just not on, 
however cute you look.

anyway, thanks for joy, fun, seasons in the sun (and snow), friendship, 
picnics, tigermilking, repetitive strain injury, square eyes, P!O!P! facts, 
flattery, poetry, hospitality and more.


i'm going outside.


i may be some time.
