Sinister: ribena and home decor b&s style

hi everyone...


well, Independence Day is upon us here in the states.
and i'm sitting here thinking.. big whoop.  

if we had never overcome the British i would be
sipping on a Ribena right now and i wouldn't have to
shell out so much dough for imports... cos well, they
wouldn't be really be imports then would they? 

I recently spent 3 weeks in the u.k. where i quickly
developed a ribena addiction.  maybe you take it for
granted or even hate the stuff... but i love it and
you can't get it in america! or anything like it!  i
even emailed Ribena and pleaded with them to start
selling it over here.  i know it's supposed to be bad
for your teeth and all, but boy oh boy is it good! and
oh yeah, in case those of of you who live in the U.K.
didn't know, your Cadbury's chocolate bars are ten
times tastier than the cadbury products they sell in
the U.S. i wish i knew why. 

anyhow, enough about sweets.

funny thing... i was walking by the record store sorta
near my house and in the window they have a big
fishyclap display...  it looks as though someone took
the time to copy the drawing from the cover onto a big
cardboard cutout.. or i dunno, it at least looked like
someone made it...anyhow that was against the window 
and hanging behind that there's a big piece of clear
vinyl that says Belle & Sebastian and then there's a
cut-out of the cover of fishyclap again. then behind
all that there are a bunch of promo posters. anyhow...
if you look at it from across the street or if you
just whiz by it quickly on a bike, the big vinyl part
looks like a shower curtain.. and i thought wow --
that's really neat!  i'd like to have a b&s shower
curtain!  but alas it's not.  anyhow.. i'm happy
someone took the time to make such an elaborate window
display.  that's really nice to see.

(if anyone wants to mail me some ribena i'd happily
send you someting very nice in return... compilation
tapes, little paintings, drawings... i'm willing to
negotiate!)
