i rarely post to the list just because i don't have much to say regrading B
& S, nor can i write in the same pretentious faux-British style that so many
of my wannabe Anglophile American friends on here do. today is different.
i just got a promo of the new album and i've listened to it severeal times
and it just does not measure up. the stuart songs seem contrived (well, not
all of them) and the others leave me empty. isobel is the only one really
able to pull off any suprises here. i am just disappointed. i really think
it is time for the band to reinvent themselves. they've done the same thing
for four albums, and while it was great, and different avenues were
thorougly explored, but with this album, B&S are traveling the same streets
and passing the same stores, and personally i think it is starting to get
boring.
word out.
dany.
