I had a Miles Davis dream last night. Should I be booking a table at the
great Plugged Nickel in the sky?

So Paul's busy, is he? Busy doing nothing, working the whole day through,
trying to find lots of things not to do, I'll be bound. He'd like to be
unhappy but he simply doesn't have the time. Last night the BCN/Belgium
chapter of Sinister had arranged to meet at a bar described in a local
newspaper nightlife guide as "full of very young people who look like
they've just come back from record shopping in London". I didn't go, because
it was way past my bedtime.

Kate Bush has a four octave voice, believe it or not.

B&S content. Nick wrote something about someone in the band having said that
their lives didn't have to revolve around the band "24/7" as Bob Hoskins
might say, and that this means it's OK not to play live (or something like
that, I'm paraphrasing wildly here) but not long ago (and this isn't Nick
anymore) we were treated to the bizarre sight of Mister Jackson saying IN
CAPITAL LETTERS that "this is the profession we have chosen" meaning pop
stars or musicians or something. Call me old fashioned, but these two
statements seem to be at odds. However they do have one thing in common.
Neither would sound out of place coming from a petulant child, or "mardy
bum" as we say in the Midlands. Having said that, I couldn't give a monkey's
whether they play live or not. I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason.
Same thing goes for the Peel session.

The appearance of Donald Sutherland in a Kate Bush video was once considered
a big deal. Heavens!

What's the title of that Floyd track that's supposed to sound like an
amazing journey through space, but in fact sounds like a bumpy ride in a
bus? Big with stoneheads. It's good, that one is. The Floyd are called Pink
after blues legend Pink Anderson, the jammy bastard.
