Sinister: it takes grace to play the second fiddle well

i came home one night last week in a somewhat less
than sober state and considered posting to the list,
but thankfully i thought better of it. i've seen
drunken postings before and god, can they be painful.
it would have been fun to see what nonsense i would
have written, mind. couldn't be much worse than this.

there's been something of a dribble of picnic reports,
rather than the usual tidal wave one might expect.
but don't think you're making the rest of us jealous -
i had my lunch out on the balcony of my house on
saturday afternoon (which counts as a picnic in my
book) and i bet i had just as much fun as anyone in
sheffield or london...

some people were talking about 1950's P!O!P! last
week, i noticed. my favourites are the 'golden age of
american rock 'n' roll' cds on ace records. i think
there's about seven volumes now of u.s. chart hits and
more obscure stuff from 1957-62. great for dancing
around your room, singing very badly, if you enjoy
that kinda thing. personally i prefer to listen to
them down the park while re-enacting my favoutire
scenes from 'american graffiti'. on my own.

i think maybe the reason that a fuss has been caused
is more to do with things being promised via the
jeepster site or whatever and then being put off again
and again, on more than one occasion, which is maybe
beginning to piss people off a bit. personally i feel
that if that's what they feel is best for them, then
they should take a break. hopefully it'll do them some
good. i'd be the last person to try to impose any
kind of protestant work ethic thing on anyone.
