Hi Picnic-ers,

B&S Tour de Jamais
I've been working for 25 years now non-stop, most of the time in jobs I
don't entirely find satisfaction in, but hey, you have to provide a roof,
you know?

If the members of Belle and Sebastian have found a way to do exactly what
they want to, when they want to, not be beholden to anyone & still make a
decent living, all respect to them. (I still feel sad about no gigs this
year mind you, but it IS up to them.)

Which One's Pink?
Sarah brought up Yes, & I won a bet with myself! as I KNEW they would be the
next strand in the thread. Rick Wakeman may be a good Lad, eating curries
during stage performances of overlong song, but his membership of Yes
coincided with the ponciest phase of their existence. Stick to Time And A
Word, & The Yes Album, trust me.

Fluffy, will it be King Crimson or Emerson, Lake & Palmer next? ELP were
much wankier than Yes.

Oh, & Starry, what is The Crazy Diamond's address, then?

BTW, did I imagine it, or did someone mention the Pink Fairies the other
day? The second single release on Stiff was one of theirs.

It seems a bit strange to dismiss a band as crap when they've been making
music for over 30 years, and have in fact been several different bands
during their career. Undoubtedly the "Floyd" have produced several piles of
pooh, but have also passed some er, diamonds amongst them. Nothing is ever
black or white. Dismissing them entirely is a bit like oh, I dunno, saying
that B&S are totally crap just because they released one lightweight
ephemeral pop single or something.

A Bird In The Hand
August's Mo-Jo has a long Incredible String Band article in it, during the
course of which they reveal that the 16 year old Kate Bush was a fan & used
to vist their commune in Wales. However, they never dared introduce her to
Mike Heron because he was such a shag monster.

A Bird In The Hand (II)
Lixi, maybe your brother is a Chaucer student (Chaunticleer? - Nun's
Priest's Tale I think.)

Silver & Gold
Blake said: "and the new neil young is ace"
But sadly its no After the Goldrush, is it?

Love,
