Oh hello there, I'm a nutter. Not in a random-acts-of-horrific-violence
kind of way, but in an I-like-Beyond-The-Sunrise kind of way. Because I do.
The first time I heard it I thought of a few choice critisisms I could apply
to it, one of them being "arse". But now, it's great, and I'd like to point
out why. It's when they're all going
arrrrr-arrrrrrrrrrrrr-aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, see? What's that you
say? You haven't the faintest idea what I'm talking about? Right, moving on
then.
Before I bought FYHCYWLAP (yes, I sadly had to *buy* it), my B&S hating
brother said "so, is it going to be crap then?" and I said "no, it's going
to be better that The Boy With The Arab Strap, but not as good as Tigermilk
and If You're Feeling Sinister". And what do you know, I was right. Although
I think I'll kick up a bit of controversy by saying that I Fought In A War
is the best opener they've done. Yes, better than The State I Am In. The bit
where the bass goes duh duh duh duh before the band join in... genius.
Oh yeah, and the orchestration. Well, it could be crap... but it isn't.
And why? Because they're not using the same orchestra as Embrace, they're
using a good one. And so the strings sound good. I've always thought that
the strings on DD#2 were a bit crap. *That's* OTT, the new ones are just
beautiful.
My God, the tone of this email isn't at all like me. Sorry, I don't know
what came over me. I've been outside a lot, and I think the fresh air might
have affected my brain.

Platonic hugs,
Mike
