Sinister: Don't Shilly Chalet

It's gone a bit quiet round here. I hope it's not because everyone's too
scared to say what they think sums up what's wrong with the new album, for
fear of having a crate of empty milk bottles dropped on them from the
eighteenth floor. For me, what sums up what's wrong with the new album is
the photo inside. Chris Geddes looks like Hanson's ugly brother, the one
they keep locked in a cupboard until they do their cover of the Young
Frankenstein version of "Putting on the Ritz". My word, hasn't Isobel filled
out? Stevie looks like a highly sexed dad from DH Lawrence. No wonder
Sarah's keeping her distance. Mad Dog Murdoch's outfit makes him look a
little like a military man, or a Gestapo officer infiltrating the Salvation
Army. Why does Chris want us to read a book called "No Lego"? Is it some
kind of childhood trauma? I think "The Chalet Lines" is great, and anyone
who doesn't like it is a cloth-eared bogeynose. Titian, Shakespeare, Thomas
Hardy, Peter Wyngarde, Hubert Selby, Atom Egoyan, Muriel Spark.... none of
these great male artists could/can go more than five minutes without
creating something rape-related, yet I doubt they're worse people than you
or me. Some of them got prosecuted, let's see if we can get Struan
prosecuted. He's already in the bad books for telling Stagecoach to eff off,
so it shouldn't be too difficult. Dirty filthy Pontins pig.
The "don't swear" messages I get come from Cornwall, wherever that is. You
will notice that I haven't sworn in this message.
My spies tell me that John Smith's in Hillhead is closing down. Does anyone
know what's going to happen to Stephen Pastel? I bet he's furious.
Thanks in advance,
Peter
