New album bit: I like it, they haven't got too lardy and lame really,
have they? It's good how every opening song is better than the one on
the last album, I think, and this opening song is the best on the whole
record. Which means I don't have to bother listening to the rest, which
is a relief. I'm joking. Am I ever not?

Shirtlifters on the world unite and take over. I just felt like saying
that.

Why is it that when you reach a certain age you start using the path
instead of trampling all over the grass? Or is it just me? There seems
to be a politeness/civil decency gene which only activates at a certain
point in time. It may be a different age for everyone, I don't know. I
even stopped playing football in the car-park outside my house when a
woman asked me to the other day. When I was a lad we used to just wait
for the police to turn up.

Anyway, John Warrander said:

Everyone come to Scotland and drink with Joss. Then we can make him
ingest so much alcohol his brain expoldes through his eyes, and he dies
the happiest bunny in all of Fluffyland. Actually not only am I going to
drink with Joss, I plan to snog him too, seeing as he's so gorgeous. If
I come from behind maybe he won't see me...

My, what a great game of football that was on Monday night. Anguish,
torment, pain, overwhelming joy and relief, it had it all. Quite a bit
like the ATP final actually, except without the ginger popstars and the
fat journalists. Oh, and I've realised that Swells vs B&S is entirely my
fault, so you can all hit me if you want.

My, The Glasgow Herald is a great paper. Not only did they run an
editorial the other week saying that anyone who defends Section 28/2a is
basically an idiot (prompting lots of hilarious "You've lost another
reader, you know!" letters), but they also had the bestest TV listing
ever. Witness:

Channel 5; X Certificate (shite porn, basically): (Would you come inside
these brackets for privacy, please? Look, I know you wouldn't dream of
watching this, but we have to tell you it's on. Sorry and all that).

Paul Arathoon said:
> If I had the guts I would say here "Music should come from the heart, not
> from the head". However that sentance makes me want to be sick. It sounds as
> if it came from a rockumentary on Kenny G or soemthing.

No, it came from Tim Hopkins I think.

Oh, I've just read Trousers' mail saying he's going. Bye Stevie. Now
he's gone can we can all say how we never liked him anyway, or will he
still read the archives? Short-arse.

Struan:
> "It's not a woman. Because it carries you about and does things and
> it's black, you look at it more as your butler."

I like the way Stuart's purposely trying to offend as many people as
possible, a bit like Roy "Chubby" Brown except funny. If Stuart did
stand up comedy instead of music, would this list still exist? I like to
think so.

I've really written enough. Everyone in London go and see Camera Obscura
cos they deserve your money far more than Martin Robinson does.

Bye for now,
Alasdair xx
