Hiya Sinister,

my top four are the same as mouche's. this'll get old pretty fast but
here is my ranking:

01 The Model
02 Woman's Realm
03 There's Too Much Love
04 I Fought in a War
05 Nice Day for a Sulk
06 The Wrong Girl
07 Waiting for the Moon to Rise
08 Don't Leave the Light On, Baby
09 Chalet Lines
10 Family Tree
11 Beyond The Sunrise

in Women's Realm, i love the lines "An interesting way of life/Deny
yourself the benefits of being alive". i think it would be better if
stuart sang Don't Leave the Light On, Baby in a lower key. i tried to
eliminate my bias towards stuart's songs in the ranking above, but it was
hard. isobel has changed her singing style a bit on this album - not as
breathy, but it still sounds unnatural. (if she has the gumption to
protest "looking stupid, being used and being thin", why must she insist
on such "pretty" vocals? would it take a revolution for sarah to have the
female parts in duets?)

with the television at my parents' house, i've managed to watch more than
my fair share of sitcoms. it gets deadening pretty fast. the hot topic
on so many shows seems to be homosexuality. oh, but there were the nba
championship games. i don't really follow sports, but reggie miller and
the indiana pacers were great! and i finally managed to read The Heart is
a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. if you haven't read it, i highly
recommend it. you know how it is when you discover someone new. on
saturday, i'm going to see lloyd cole with my sister and her husband. it
should be pretty cool. except i don't know what he'll sing cos it's been
a long time since he's released anything, as far as i know.

yours,
youn
