must say, something like the sinister list is a terrifying thing.
high-qual bands like b&s, the mag fields, guided by vox, with their
lyrics and "their catchy tunes" threaten poetry. i mean this with no
sincerity and would myself prefer listening to sam cooke than reading
wordsworth. nonetheless it's good to hear about laura and her wondrous
book. by the way, simon reads this batman poem where robin accuses
batman of being a "beh'-beh". is that common, pronouncing "baby"
(am.eng. bay'-bee) as beh'-beh? incidentally, fat bastard pronounces it
the same way in austin powers 2 (sorry scots for mentioning such a
demeaning representation of scottish food consumption and clothing
style).
