Hello Again Or,

The June Select is peppered with B&S references. (Illegitimates!)

Sinister FC appear in the ATP photos (inside front cover), Legal Man &
Geometrid get reviewed, 2000 Troubled Teenagers is bigged up (better order
your guaranteed entry passes*), & Stevie speaks about the single:

(WARNING: mention of not yet released Belle and Sebastian material follows!)

"We recorded it as part of the sessions for the new album about a year ago,
but it was never intended to go on there. 'Legal Man' is quite a straight
title, the lyrics are kind of legal-speak. As to 'Judy Is A Dick Slap'... it
fitted. I don't know if she's the same Judy from 'Judy And The Dream Of
Horses'. 'Winter Wooskie' was written by Stuart David, who's not actually in
the band any more. It's about his wife. Maybe Wooskie is his pet name for
her.

Are we hoping for a summer hit? Yeah, God, hope so! This idea that we're
doing the three-track format in order to be eligible for the charts - apart
from 'This Is Just A Modern Rock Song', all the previous EP's _were_ . They
_all_ got in the charts.

Would we do "Top Of The Pops"? Like a shot! Of course! Who wouldn't? Why
else would you want to be in a band? Ach, y'know, if you're bound to
everyone's expectations you might as well give up. Every EP we wanted to be
a hit.

Have we sold out? Maybe if we keep getting offers for adverts one day we'll
crack; everyone's got a price. People are always asking to use tracks - I
can't say which ones - and offering vast sums of money. I'd be quite into
_writing_ music for an advert - that'd be quite interesting - but you can't
stake your reputation on a chocolate bar."

Hmmmm, seems like Mick's not the only one who's been reading the list
recently.
