Bergman-Genge Nuptials Take Place May 23, 2000


Miss Amanda "Swannie" Bergman of New York, New Jersey and Sinister was wed
last
evening to Mr. Stephen Genge of Portsmouth, England and Sinister.  The civil
ceremony took place in East Brunswick, New Jersey, with Judge Toto
officiating.  A
religious ceremony will be held this coming autumn.

The bride wore a butter yellow coat over a black sheath and carried calla
lilies.   Her outfit was accessorized with a Dog on Wheels badge (worn
rightside up) as a sentimental nod to the band which brought the couple
together.

Following the ceremony, the celebrants retired to a restaurant for dinner.
Sinisterines in attendance included Ned (who originally introduced Amanda to
the music of B+S and the Sinister list), Matthew, and this correspondent.
Fluffy Sarah made a brief appearance at the nuptial dinner via mobile
telephonic connection from Kingston, UK.

Mr. and Mrs. Genge became acquainted several years ago on the Sinister
mailing list and their love for the music of Belle and Sebastian blossomed
into love for each other.  The couple will reside in the metropolitan New
York area while the bride completes her degree at NYU.

Thanks to our own List Mummy and Yenta, Honey, who has made and maintains a
place where things like this can happen.
