Ian,

Back in the early 90's (like that's a long time ago!), I was living in the
Northwestern Part of the U.S. in Oregon to be precise. During my stay there,
I began to notice (both in clubs and on the radio) these girlbands who
sounded like the Go-Go's but with a more musical and honest edge. I think
someone along the way named it "CuddleCore".

Heavenly was one of these bands if I am not mistaken or at least in the same
genre. And although they were on Sarah Records, they have many things in
common with bands from K records, Nardwuar the Human Serviette, and also
those Yo-Yo Compilations that Pat Maley used to put out.

While everyone in the U.S. was listening to grunge (ugh), there were all
these great pop bands in the NW. Playing their precious hearts out for
little or no recognition.

Bands like:

Cub
Go Sailor
Addickted.
Anything with this chick, Kaia, in it.

And, yes, they are pretty neat. Some of their stuff reminds of Helen Love
(who I love) in spirit if not in sound.

I find a site about Heavenly and a place where you can buy their records
online.
