someone mentioned elliot smith, i am going to see him
tonight but i really do not want to. i saw him a few
years back when he was opening for the tindersticks
and gosh he was dreamy, all deer in the headlights and
quiveringly charming as he strummed his lonely songs
all by his lonesome but ack i saw him last year or
earlier this year or something like that and it was
rawking as he was with quasi kinney and it was
dreadful except for the encore when he played by
himself as he had back when he opened for the
tindersticks and he was lovely. i already have my
shampoo care package for him though.

red bulls are big bags of rock salt crammed into a
little can right? maybe they might be useful if you
were stuck in a snowdrift on the side of the road but
i can't imagine any other time i would want one.

someone else said their students make more sense than
the teachers, this might be the case but i think this
thinking is a bad trend. i spent last weekend or the
one before watching a 'youth summit' and listened to
the kids whine(quite incoherently in obtuse slang)
about how no one takes them seriously and i thought to
myself thank god no one takes these kids seriously oh
but then the grown-up moderator said something like
'amen, parents start listening to your kids' or
something stupid like that. i am always distressed at
movies or television programs where the kids have
traded roles with adults and act like the wise ones.
kids are dumb, always have been always will be why is
this so hard to understand? well excpet for doogie
howser and that was only cause he had a huge forehead
to pack in his big brain. the puddle had a hit song
with a tune that was a rip-off of the doogie howser
theme track.
i ordered the robert scott solo lp, how exciting, he
has written thousands of songs apparently but now he
has no band to release them with now so he is solo bob
scott now and this record is mostly instrumental like
scenes from the south island instrumental which might
be a bit of an overstatement. however, apparently
the clean may record another album soon. how
thrilling. still waiting for cloudboy but aren't we
all.
thom yorke is voting for nader, nader for dictator!
