I did something quite odd last night. Idleberry had mentioned that she
misses having a bath. So there I was at 2:40am, running the taps and sitting
on the edge of the tub waiting for it to fill. There was a Stephen King film
on the telly and I lost interest in it after a while. An author with a
vicious alter-ego.
I always seem to lose interest in things quickly. First it was the Stephen
King film, then I forgot I'd left the bath running while I rummaged for a
cassette in the living room. Caught the bath just in time.
That done, I tried to cut my own hair (again) but it turned out a bit of a
mess (again). I always get crazy ideas at that time of the morning. I made a
mental note to set my alarm for 7 as I'd have to get up early. After reading
some teletext pages I hadn't seen before, I went to bed and put on The
Delgados 'American trilogy' and left it on repeat.
Woke up this morning and The Delgados were still playing (isn't music
technology wonderful these days?)
My breakfast consisted of a large portion of Idlewild, a glass of Looper and
a few slices of Marvin Gaye.
My cough is getting worse. It's now a bark. With a bite. If logic allows
that.
*pause* I feel like I should be smiling. And I think I should at least
refrain from posting until I feel a bit better. I hate this outward display
of emotional turbulence. The list isn't for people like me, it's not a place
to moan on about life. It's probably a place where people go to perhaps
escape and take their mind off life for a few minutes. And here I am
reminding you all of The Bad Things In Life.
*tries to think of something positive to say*
Oh, yeah. I've nearly finished my fanzine.
Right, bye.
Love Pamela
