Hello Kids,
This is Vilkas. I don't post so often. But for various reasons (like
friends and family) I'm gonna be in New York...tomorrow. So why I'm telling
you this is cos I'm asking for the scoop on entertainment from any of yous
who are in NYC. Specifically dancing.
I know they're a zillion of places to dance, but I just came from
Glasgow, the club capitol of Europe, which means my dancing preference niche
was extensibly catered for. I've been spoiled. Are there any places to go
dancing to "indie rock" etc.; or soul music like Northern Soul (like Mr.
Divine, or that guy from some indie band DJs the stuff too). Techno/house
too, provided it doesn't suck, you know the GOOD stuff. No dance remixes of
Celine Dion. Fatboy Slim is nice to do work by, but...I've had my fill of
chart hits dancing. Breakbeat & Hip-Hop are fab too. Also, places where
sneakers are allowed. (You know, clean, fasionable, hip sneakers. Don't
think I'm trying to get out of dressing fly. Dressing fly is often fun.
However dancing in other shoes is foolish. But try telling that to the
doorman/a**hole). Am I asking too much?
Any must see art shows up? Any music shows? I know about the Delgados,
they're half the reason for the trip. And if you know if they're sold out,
do you have an extra ticket? :)!
            Thanks in advance, Vilkas
