Good afternoon poptarts

I have been called and despite being rather late (I was in my homeland, a land
where beer is only one pound for a pint and the air is clear enough to see
shooting stars aaahhhhh) I shall respond, Sodastream, they were bloody lovely,
I?d not seen them before and didn?t know what to expect to be honest, but I came
away happy and gladdened (and just a little saddened, it?s ?done with
everything? that gets me every time). They managed to fill the room with the
deep deep bass and fragile singing and I was pretty darn impressed. Bad bits?
The aforementioned chipmunk sisters behind the bar (an emergency tracheotomy
would have been too nice for them) and that was about it, apart from my beloved
Spireites being knocked out of the cup at the first hurdle ?.again (but that?s
not exactly related).

Anyway, five hgours sleep later and I?m braving the perils that is the rail
infrastructure of our brave land, what a bunch of crap eh? Four and a half
hours to do a journey that takes 2 and being cramped up in one of those horrible
little sprinters, with no batteries for my walkman and the last few pages of my
book and no paper to read cos they couldn?t be arsed to open the kiosk at St
Pancras before nine in the morning aaaarrrrgggghhh sorry, rant over.

Mind you once up there it was worth it, cheap beer and fresh air as opposed to
overpriced fizz and smog was a very refreshing change, I got to see my Mum and
sister, some of my old friends and generally chill out, it almost made me want
to leave London.

Someone mentioned Grandaddy, they?re ace, I?d say that they?re in the mercury
rev, flaming lips (not that good but you know what I mean?.I hope), Scott 4 sort
of mould, not only that, I?m going to see them on Wednesday and they?re on the
Jeepster Christmas album with a lovely little ditty about Alan Parsons (who he?
Producer type fellow?)

Of course also on said Album is Belle & Seb?s version of O come O come Emmanuel,
to me it sounded like a nice enough version of an old Carol, ,my Mum, however
proclaimed it lovely and proceeded to sing along with gusto while we were
driving round the Peak district on Tuesday. So there you go, it has Mummy
Brown?s seal of approval so it must be good.

That?s got to be about it for me, my posts are usually short grovelling letters
for missed sessions, not this type of thing at all, must have been the fresh air

Toodle pip my pretties

Chrisx

PS don?t forget to vote in Uncle Peelies festive 50, there?s a form on the radio

*no innuendo intended, just too many games of crib in the pub
