Sinister: She wants a boy who laughs at everyone, who goes with her like bullets in a gun

Hello Sinister Massive,
I couldn't help noticing a recent thread regarding women's prediliction
toward dating liars, thieves and malcontents...bad boys. Having been the
unwitting victim of this time and time again, I would love to be clued in as
to what the big deal is. I have my theories, but given that I'm not a woman,
they're probably pretty misinformed.
My theory is that women want something to mother and mold and scold, rather
than some thumb-sucker or all-around nice guy who's just waiting on their
every sneeze to brandish a box of tissues. Maybe its also because neglect is
such a "manly" thing, that unless a guy repeatedly ignores a girl he doesn't
seem "manly." Why do women want it hard? (not like that, you perverts) I
always hear my women friends moaning about how they want a guy "who's
normal...who's nice...who'll buy us flowers," when what they really want is
all of that followed by the phrase "once a year." I have bought women
flowers for no reason, sereneded them with love songs, complimented them up
and down, missed a kegger to watch "You've Got Mail" etc., only to be left
behind for guys who forgot their birthday and would later cheat on them with
an ex- or something. It seems like as soon as a woman knows she has a guy, I
mean really and truly HAS a guy, then she doesn't want him anymore. Guys are
very much like this too, so I guess we have no room to talk. Perhaps people
aren't comfortable unless they're uncomfortable, unless there's that
every-present feeling that any minute something COULD go wrong (even if it
never does). Maybe it ties in with wanting someone independent, someone who
could do without you quite easily, thank you very much. I have no clue. I
just know all my overly romantic friends are also the ones who are the
loneliest and I wish I could understand why.
Ferris Bueller once said, "You can't respect someone who kisses your ass...it
just doesn't work." Perhaps that says it all.
Perfecting the art of imperfection...
