I am reminded of this as i take my vespa down Garden Street, and all around
me from the sky comes falling yellow confetti, like some out-of-place
parade, leaves falling like a wierd victory celebration for me.  The war is
over, although i know my side lost.  So why do i feel that a victory parade
is in order?  Lovely voices from the other side of the world whisper in my
ear: "Maybe you won the war after all."
