Sinister: grrls of distinction: shy violet, manda rin and me ;-D

hello leedle  kidz!!

what a day hey?? not only did i attend the funeral of a great-grandmother 
whom i barely knew and didn't care to due to her DISAPPROVAL  of my mother 
and all she stood for --scandal!! this should be on some rubbish soap 
centered around kids from the 'wrong side of the tracks' -- something like 
THE HEIGHTS - ha!!! do we all remember that?? with that Jamie Bloggs guy 
who sang some pathetic college rock songs ... hey! that must be me!!! i'm 
that kid!! hehe...


Anyway not only did I have to go to a funeral in which I didn't belong back 
but I also had a meeting with my film lecturer who says she is going to get 
me published in an academic journal... ha!! and i'm only an undergrad! what 
bollocks right?? well it's a funny, nice, sweet thought even if she is 
temporarily insane...

List-wise though i do actually have something worthwhile (questionable...) 
to contribute:

well a funny thing about this is that when bis came to sydney way back in 
97 for a tiny promo visit (they played one tiny show and another tiny 
instore) i was having a bit of a chat with manda and steven and some guy 
who was with em butted in and kept exclaiming that if manda had blonde hair 
( my natural colour which i happened to have very briefly at that point) 
then she would look just like me, which resulted in communal agreement and 
encouragement. this was exceedingly bizarre as i had had many a local 
indiekid tell me the same thing but to hear it from tha grrl herself was 
exceedingly bizarre -- i figured it was only because we are both shorties, 
with bobbed hair and we look about 5 years younger than we actually 
are...and i still stand by that!!! hehe .

but it seems that i'm 'one of those people' who always get singled out as 
looking like 'some other person'. Fr'instance : a cousin who was killed in 
a car accident (spooky! i don't feel entirely comfortable with this); 
christina ricci ( i have black hair now which encourages the comparison and 
we have similar looking eyes); and someone's friend from first year and etc 
etc, the list goes on... I don't get it yet i must *endure* it daily, she 
exclaims with hand raised dramatically to forehead..

i had a very cool Shy violet doll -- she smelt like that funny synthetic 
grape smell and she was as purple as can be. if only i was still in 
possession I could help you out Jen but , alas! my nanna got rid of her in 
a neurotic "spring cleaning" about 7 or 8 years ago and i didn't discover 
her absence until a couple of weeks later when she had been shipped off to 
some unknown destination... <sob>. poor old violet she was always such a 
great pal, smelling that smell to the very last...

enough witty banter i say!! time to move on !!
