it's just strange! stereolab's new record listed as "only vinyl 1000
copies pressed"... so i buy it of course, for $22. 2 LPs. i listen to the
entire first side, thinking it's a little slow for a stereolab song...
when i flip it over, i find that the girl's voice is terribly slowed
down.. of course indicating that the (12") record was supposed to be
played at **45RPMS**, and i just hadn't noticed because it was
instrumental. (although it sounds much better sped up, of course.) but
this is the first 12" 45RPM piece i've EVER seen, and it doesn't say
-anything- about it being 45 RPMs ANYWHERE in the packaging!! finally,
i've found the vinyl numerous places online, and with the same track
listing (the guy claimed it had tracks that weren't available on other
albums.) can anyone help me out with what's the story here?

in other news, i got the new godspeed album on vinyl too. it's GORGEOUS.
oh god. godspeed is playing at my tiny tiny school on december 9 (bard
college, in upstate new york), along with WILL OLDHAM and ***MICK
TURNER*** from the DIRTY THREE! god, it's so superstardom up here! ida and
low played here a week ago... but everyone was talking so much that
elizabeth (from ida) got really upset, and they stopped right in the
middle of the best songs...

sorry for not being faux-brit tonight, i just don't have it in me.
