your point of view is admirable, but you're being rather shortsighted.  it's not only about those things.  that's like saying
aerosmith or korn is all that rock is about, and therefore so are belle and sebastian and pavement--all socialists are josef stalin
and all feminists are valerie solanis.  you couldn't fit, say, public enemy, or the beastie boys, or de la soul into that
definition.  it's fine if you just don't like the musical form, that's simply a matter of taste, but don't take the loudest, most
obnoxious message as the only one and discount everything else.  that's a mistake in any situation, and you could miss out.
