Sinister: the world has gone mad

ok. so i have officially moved and am living in the lovely town of munich 
germany. moving from detroit michigan was quite a shock, but took me little 
time to adjust. that is until yesterday. yesterday marked the beginning of 
the 'Oktoberfest.' this festival of massive amounts of beer being consumed 
has brought every tourist with nowhere better to go here.

last time that i checked this was germany and last that i checked the 
national language is german. this doesn't seem to matter to those from the 
lovely united states of america. they seem to think that the national 
language of the world is english. this isn't true. even i, having only been 
here for two weeks, am offended when people walk up to me and ask me for 
inane directions to something like the Haufbrauhaus in english. ahhh. oh 
well. i guess that you can't excape ignorace anywhere.

case in point: (not to bore you all with my rediculous stories but...) last 
night i was walking home with a few of my newly aquainted friends and an 
italian punk tried to start a fight with me. i'm not a little guy and this 
guy most certainly was. not to mention that i grew up in a town that is know 
for having a lot of violence and when this is the case you grow up either 
being beaten or beating. never have i gone out and sought violence, but i 
won't be pummeled without a fight. so... to make a short story even 
longer... i, not wanting to go to german jail, told him where he could go 
(in italian, a benifit of living in italy for a couple of months) and walked 
away. when i got home i was infuriated that this kind of thing could go on. 
is this not supposed to be a celebration? whatever!

well sorry for the long, long stories.

i don't have any b&s info or comments but in the way of music... i finally 
found the nick drake boxset on vinyl and am a happy man. it was my birthday 
present to myself.
