Laura Llew, I salute you. The greatest tape scam since the last tape
tree, when all the tapes disappeared mysteriously into a black hole round
south-east London way. Although I did hear that Juicy Lucy received my
tape/CD recently, so maybe it is still going, but just has passed me by. It
sounds so romantic, driving in the deep dark woods in deepest darkest, em,
Utah.
Kerry said she remembered when Honey was Paul. I do too, faintly, a long
time ago now, and the change is to the good, I say. She'll be embarrassed
at me saying it, though.
As for poets, I have always loved John Donne. I used to think poetry was too
hard and just a long way of saying something straightforward, but now, in my
declining years, it is all I can do to keep my concentration for any length
of time, and so I fool myself into thinking I have done something great by
scoffing down five lines and then going for a sleep, or to plant some
annuals.
To all those going to ATP, have a lovely time, won't you, and if some kind
soul feels like buying a Camber Sands ashtray (about £1.95p in the wee shop
opposite the front gate) I will reimburse them eagerly.
London picnic - we might make it.
Linda
xx
