...okay, fair enough. Crap subject line. But in the words of the mighty
Super Furry Animals, "Happiness Is A Worn Pun".
Hello all.
Its been a while since my last offering. I havent really done anything
much in that time, which probably explains my absence. I think I might have
enough Content to post now. So here come some random ramblings
I was listening to 1977 by Ash the other day, after Amy commented about
seeing them at T In The Park. However, I can no longer listen to the sixth
track without hearing the following lyrics:
>>Ken Chu you do what you do to me
>>I havent been the same since my teenage lobotomy
>>etc etc etc
Perhaps Im just developing an unhealthy obsession with the man himself.
Maybe. Answers on an e-card to the usual address.
I love it when people say um
well Ive run out of things to say now, so
Ill shut up, and then spend a paragraph detailing exactly how theyre
going to go about the act of shutting up. Im not being sarcastic either, I
really love it. It makes me SMILE.
A while back (in my last post actually), I wondered whether B&S were any
good any more etc, and after much self-debate Ive come to the conclusion
that actually theyre still fab. I wasnt feeling too good recently and so
Tigermilk came out and I played it quite loudly and waited for the music to
ooze and wash around me and seep into every pore in my body. And it did, and
it made me feel better for the 40-odd minutes whilst it was playing, so
thank the Lord. Miraculous Technique is also truly gorgeous, so Ive been
going through something of a B&S renaissance recently. Thank you David White
for putting all of the Black Session on your site. I now have it in its
entirety, and it, too, is marvellous.
Anybody else madly in love with Pulp? I am, and am now the proud owner of a
promotional white label twelve inch thingy of their new song, Sunrise,
which is A Very Good Song Indeed. I love Pulp.As I said in a previous post,
the new Beta Band LP is fanTAStic. Hopefully the new SFA will be equally
blinding.
Does it strike anybody else as slightly odd that B&S have a badge and a
t-shirt that says BSPD on it? Presumably this stands for Belle &
Sebastian Police Department, but it dont understand the link between the,
ahem, pigs, and the loveable indie scamps whom we all love.
Id understand if fans of Dr Dre sported a badge of NWAPD on their
cardigans. Because that would make sense. Irony.
About 2 months ago, Eric The Half A Bee decided to change his name from
Eric to Eric The Half A Bee, so that he was more memorable on the list
when people met him at picnics. I think this is a Good Idea, so Im gonna
rip off Rachel Playforth, and simply swap the first two letters of my name.
So, hugs to all,
Asm.x
