my equation would have to be something along the lines of

B&S = (caravan/nick drake) x simon and garfunkel
       -----------------------------------------            x S
       (small-town gossip) - ("haw, you, ur you a hippy?")

where S is a combination of several variables chosen relative to the observer, 
and largely depending on the time of year.
And I've done maths at uni, so  I'm right......
