Lightbody forms Scot superband

Members of Belle & Sebastian, Arab Strap and Mogwai
have teamed up to record a 15-track album.

They have got together under the leadership of Snow
Patrol's Gary Lightbody.

The collective, which calls itself Reindeer Section, will
release Y'All Get Scared Now a Hear! on August 6 through
Bright Star recordings.
They intend to make their live debut at T In The Park on July
8.

Lightbody told NME.com: "It's all thanks to Lou Barlow in a
way. He did three gigs at Nice N' Sleazy in January and
everyone was there. I went around drunkenly saying, 'I've
started a band called Reindeer Section' - I've no idea where
the name came from! - 'And would you like to be in it?'"
Apparently, Lightman was so excited by the idea of the
combo that he hastily set about getting down to work, wrote
15 songs the following day and got everyone together to
record them. Reindeer Section features Mogwai's John
Cummings, Arab Strap's Aidan Moffat, Belle & Sebastian's
Richard Colburn and Mick Cooke, Colin MacIntyre from Mull
Historical Society, Jenny Reeve of Eva, Willie Campbell
and Charlie Clarke from Astrid and Snow Patrol's Jonny
Quinn, all of whom Lightbody hopes will appear at their T In
The Park gig.
