Hi everyone,
(People going to the Friday gig who're not interested in V-Twin can jump straight to the
last paragraph, but they will miss a tiny bit of B&S content.)
I've been turning into a bit of a lurker recently due to V-Twin not doing much recently
that was worth informing you about - they have been doing the usual V-Twin things;
occasionally recording bits of album, falling out, making friends again and having three
or four line up changes a day. The album is almost finished - just some final vocal
tracks to be recorded. The bits I've heard sound great (and I know the cynical ones
among you will say that's because Jason's vocals haven't been recorded yet...)
Maybe I should try posting real B&S content for a change...
I lent my PA to a charity thingy a couple of weeks ago, and so had to go and set it up
in the church hall they had borrowed - the same one featured some time ago in the
News of the World's attempt at a B&S exposé. It was rather weird seeing Stuart in his
caretaker role. I don't think anyone else there knew who he was.
Some time ago Peter Miller suggested the Saracen's Head (known locally as the Sarry
Heid) as a meetup point before the Glasgow gigs, and were this the mid 18th century
that would have been an excellent idea, however probably not these days. Someone
else suggested McChuill's which is a rather better idea - it does tend to be rather
crowded early on a Friday evening with post-work drinkers, bit is a nice place with
interesting posters and record sleeves on the wall, and an owner who looks like Andy
Warhol.
Anyway, I had forgotten about that at the time I was arranging where to meet up with
the people I'm going to the Friday gig with, so we're meeting in the 13th Note Cafe on
King Street at 7p.m. Any of you who want to are welcome to join us. I'm the bloke of
average height, weight and age, but with longer than average pony-tail and more
battered than average glasses, sitting (or standing if it's busy) drinking cider...
Niall.
