Sinister: Damp eyed lemons and foamy bananas

Aargghh!
Out of the bubble wrapped nursery and thrown headfirst into the
darkest depths of Sinister. So for the first time...
Good Evening, Sinisterbites! (that's a term of endearment, right?)

Well, the Peely Session was fine and dandy even if I did feel like
kicking my radio every time he said, "here's something I brought back
from Barcelona", but if that's the price to pay for some whopping
songs, so be it. The first one wasn't hugely impressive, but "My
Girl's Got..." would have made it all worthwhile on it's own.
The whole of the UK did not sit back and allow me to be the only one
entering the competition, which I thought was most rude. I couldn't
have gone even if I did win, but I could have got to touch a ticket.
Maybe rip a bit off and eat it before selling it on... anyway...

As this is my first post (and I'm not well known) I thought I'd start
with a personal and optimistic insight into my sad little world in the
recent style...
4 Reasons why my life is pretty crap right now (go on, read, some of
it's mildly amusing even if it's ever so slightly self-indulgent):

1)Having been promised for the past month by the friends of the most
beautiful girl (in the world, ever) that she likes me I find out it
was a big bag of pants. The moral of this story is, if someone
promises something, believe them. If they promise something that
should in any way benefit me, don't.

2) The other night (my first friday night of freedom from exams) I
went to a local club where I usually meet most of my friends, only to
find there was hardly anyone there. But, the plot thickens... the
couple that were there were surprised to see me as apparently everyone
thought it was my party that night. If any member of sinister can
personally beat "not being invited to your own party" for evidence of
being an utter loner, post it on the list, e-mail me your address and
I will honestly send you a packet of Opal Fruits. ***LIMITED TO ONE
BEST STORY***

3) I have recently found out I cannot go to any B&S gigs or Sinister
picnics this year. At all. Bug-ger.

4) I am a fully fledged member of Sinister and I do not own one
cardigan.(However, I am currently sipping a large beaker of ribena, so
can I still be in?).

****************B&S content*******************
Well, as I said, I can't make any of the gigs this year so the B&S
content's going to be pretty thin...bought Jonathan David...like
it,(But paid £4 for the privilege, someone confirm my fear that I was
ripped off by the only shop that had it, "Our Price") although I think
"...Shove it" takes my vote. In J.D. I like the bit were the voices
come in but my favourite bit is the section that bridges "It's not
like we'll be parted..." and "you'll be in love, there's no other
way."
I was a little vexed to see that someone would actually rather have
bought Missy Elliot than J.D, I just can't abide that woman.(Missy
Elliot, not the postee) I promise you, if there was a machine to
measure talent Missy Elliot would have fallen off the bottom. Any
misguided Missy Elliot fans should, by now, been brought back to
reality with a sharp knock having heard her latest release. S**t is
not the word. ;-) (Don't take it personally, guys!)

I can hardly bear to listen to Simple Things at the moment, it is *so*
relevant you wouldn't believe it, me playin' guitar and the girl thing
an' all, and it reduces me to feeling like a big damp eyed lemon.
(that is to say, bitter...)

Can anyone who is into the gentle waves suggest an album? I bought
"Green fields..." and although I respect that it is better than mucho
music at the moment it's a little on the dinky side for me, but I want
to buy another album so if someone could tell me "they're not all
quite so sweet and sugary" I will. Does anyone get the impression that
some of the melodies form "Green fields..." are stolen nursery rhymes?

The other day I got a tub of foamy banana sweeties, absolutely free.
That is true and if you doubt me I will send you one.

I've gone on too long already...but if you read after my name there's
a sinister little bedtime story...
talking of bedtime, it's almost 8 'o' clock.

Tom

'They stood in the middle of the road. The boy said to the old man,
"why does the road become narrower at the other end?" The old man
replied, "That is perspective, child. When you arrive there, the road
will be just as wide as it is here."
So the boy walked along the road for a very long time. When he was far
along it, the two sides had converged so much that he could travel no
further.
He went back to ask the old man, but the old man was dead.'

P.S: Whoever said it was worse not to be in the same country as B&S,
well, point taken, but if you're not going you're not going
regardless! Anyway, I will cry with you as I am in the same boat.
