Hello children...
How's things? I had a really shockingly dull exam called General Studies this
morning. I hated it, they gave us sample exam papers a couple of weeks ago to
practise and they were piss, but this morning they gave us difficult papers
with difficult questions,
Like what the fuck is "Utilitarianism". Christ.
Bassists are great. Particularly Alex James. I'm not surprised Archel had a
crush on him - he does cool basslines. I can play Girls and Boys! It's lots
of fun.
And Beetlebum, which isn't so much fun, but it's still cool.
And REM are not shite. Well not completely. Their new song iss nice anyway
and has a cool video (I watch too much MTV).
The Beatles were very popular, and, let's face it apart from of a few of the
Lennon songs they were pretty damn mediocre - not bad, but mediocre compared
to the Velvet Underground, who rock. I wrote about them in my exam (there was
an art section and I know nothing about art unless you count pop music, which
I don't know much about either). The question was about styles of art, so I
just wrote some drivel about experimental music...drugs and sex....pictures
of bananas etc.
I'm kind of in a band at the moment, it's called Penfold. I prefer to play
bass but they've got me on rythm guitar (probably because their current
bassist knows how sexy it makes him looks, but it's not fair - he doesn't
need it he's already got a girlfriend (she's the drummer)). We don't have
many songs but the bassist did one about lesbians - it's all about how great
it would be to get stuck in a lift with lesbians. I can't remember the verse
but the chorus goes:
Going down and they're going down,
Going down and they're going down,
Going down and they're going down
On each other....
And he sings like N'Sync on the verse but goes all poosailor indie rock in
the chorus and then makes fake orgasm noises after the second verse.
Well I find it amusing anyway.. I should just grow up.
My B&S tickets are apparently in the post hurrah, I hope this strike doesn't
poo them up.
Byebye my love
