Sinister: first post

dearest list,
I've been a serial lurker for quite some time now and, like 'strange boy on 
swing' in the endearing 'prospero's books', I am no longer content to 
occasionally piddle into the great sinister swimming pool. I want to dive 
right in.
Thankyou everyone who has posted and made the murky days shiny (or at least 
tinged them with romanticism).
Just wanted to get my foot in the door really, so I'll leave it there and 
post proper later.
