Sinister: Piper At The Gates Of Dawn

Balloons being filled with hot air, blasts of flame
pushing them off the ground, pilots and passengers
crowding in the baskets. My image of them refreshed:
in the very-first-thing light they seem lighter and
sweeter than ever, bright colours and nothing but
wind. No commentary, just real live noise of people,
many people really, gathered at six o'clock to watch
hot air balloons take off. The veteran
balloon-watchers, the ordinary folk taking an interest
and their children, the cuties in woolly things lined
up against a fence taking me back about 18 imaginary
years. In the morning's wind most craft seem to rise
suddenly and whizz over the horizon, but the Scottish
piper, who slightly reminds me of RJG, his feet bigger
than people, who last night was packed away to the
strains of a bagpipe lament having failed to fly, gets
off the ground and floats away into the blue, slower
than anything else in sight.

I thought he was, in a way, but I couldn't work out
the way.

Is this the ultimate Sinister Gold line?

Which record was it?

>>> Helter Skelter had to close their shop on Denmark
Street because the rent was too high, or something. I
got a book for half price during their closing down
sale. It was about the Beach Boys. I hope to sell it
for a vast profit one day.

I predict it will go for £18.

>>> I feel strangely violated by the fact that there
is a B&S book coming out and that it appears to be
'authorised'.

Is that because it may quote private letters from you?

I feel strangely violated, also, on St*phen Tr*uss*'s
behalf, for, as I said before, he was going to write
the book, but left the proposal in the pocket of his
other Lemerre, I mean, Jacquet.

>>> I suppose this opens the floodgates for
unscrupulous scandalmongers, though. Also, it might be
interesting to read.

Good point.

It had better mention THE SARACEN HEAD.

You know, over the years many have written to sinister
saying they wanted information about B&S fandom and
what not. So, why has the author of the new book not
done the same? Or were all those posts from 'Kenneth
Chu', from him?
