Sinister: Botanically Glaswegian

Grrr...so this is the Bank Holiday weekend and it's wet. There was supposed
to be a little local mini-festival type thing taking place on Ham's Piece, a
field a short distance from my house, but I suspect it'll be a washout.
Mind you, one of the bands playing is called Gimpsuit so maybe it's best
avoided anyway!

I'm going to see Franz Ferdinand at Brookes uni student union tonight
though, and it has to clear up for Fun in the Parks (funfair! band tent!
soundsystem tent! Japanese noodle bar!) on Monday - doesn't it? With any
luck I shall also make it up to Needles Wine Bar, Clipstone St. for this
too:

SETTLEFISH (rare uk visit from italian deep elm records bruisers
specialising in powerful melodic heaviness)

THAT FUCKING TANK (baritone guitar and drum terror duo from members
of kill yourself - duck and cover!)

PRAGUE (london indie-rock three - or is it four? - piece in denial
that its not '94 anymore)

MY DEAR KILLER (nick drake meets gastr del sol)

SUNDAY MAY 2nd - doors 19.30, first band 20.00

One of the bands here meant the original e-mail didn't make it through my
work e-mail's Inappropriate Content filter - no prizes for guessing which.

Great news Linda about June 12th. I this is the definitely opportunity to
*finally* visit Glasgow on that weekend....it is really rubbish that i
haven't been before, I know, any offers of floorspace greatly
appreciated....

Listening to the Wendys version of Can's Yoo Do Right at the moment, a brave
choice of cover if ever there was one!

Mark.
