Hello all,

After a hectic weekend finishing things in the studio, we can announce that Belle & Sebastian's new  AA-side "Books" is to be released on June 21st in UK and Europe. It'll be available on three formats:- 

The Enhanced CD single will feature "Your Cover's Blown", "Wrapped Up In Books", "Your Secrets" and "Cover (Version)", as well as the video to "Wrapped Up In Books" and a Books computer game.   

The DVD single contains "Your Cover's Blown" (with cartoon  gallery by Marc Baines), the video to "Wrapped Up In Books", plus "Your  Secrets" and "Cover (Version)". 

Lastly, the 7" single will feature "Your Cover's Blown (edit)" and "Wrapped Up In Books".

The video for "Wrapped Up In Books" was co-directed by Stuart and Blair Young, and stars Alex Klobouk (Germany's reknowned Catastrophe Waitress) and Gisela Hans. You  can vote to get the video up the NME/MTV2 charts by visiting http://www.mtv2europe.com/mtv2europe.com/nmeChart.jhtml

In other news, B&S have confirmed appearances at the Glastonbury and Benicassim festivals in the UK in June and Spain in August respectively.  Also, Devendra Banhart has been confirmed as the opener for both the Somerset House shows, with The Shins playing as well. We've made some more t-shirts recently: Sarah has a new 6 colour B&S logo which is printed onto navy unisex and light blue girlie tees, plus a cute wee enamel badge with a chicken and egg design on it, by our good friend Marc Baines.  We're STILL waiting on the enamel mugs to arrive, but hopefully they, a new "Profiles" shirt, poster and special souvenir surpise item of merchandise will be available in time for the Glasgow Botanics show on June 12th.
